Jeep Gladiator is a standard size (EPA Size Class) pickup truck based on the Wrangler platform. It was introduced in the year 2019, after showcasing in the auto show of 2018. It comes in either gasoline version or a diesel fueled version. Gladiator returns a mileage of 19 mpg on gasoline (16-17 on city and 22-23 on highways) and 24 mpg (21-22 on city and 27-28 on highways) on diesel variant. All models are 4WD capable.
The main competition to Jeep Gladiator seems to be Honda Ridgeline, Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado and Ford Ranger. All of these models are midsize pickup trucks. Only the Gladiator and Colorado come with diesel variants. While the Gladiator offers a number of choices in the trims, it is far outweighed by the options provided by Chevy and Toyota. Interestingly, the best-selling model in this segment is the Honda Ridgeline, yet ridgeline only offers one choice. Other make and model of this segment offer versatile engine choice such as Chevy and Toyota with their models in multiple cubic capacity gasoline and diesel engine. EPA mileage of the Jeep gladiator is the best out of all the competition.

It goes way back to 1962, when Gladiator was first introduced. It remained in production till 1988. But the current lineup of Gladiator was introduced in 2018 LA Auto Show and came into production the next year. It has seen moderate success, with being in the top 10 of its class. Gladiator is the only vehicle of Jeep under truck category.

Most enthusiasts care about the truck’s off-road equipment anyways, which includes everything from copious skid plates to rock-crawling axle ratios to the ability to ford up to 30 inches of water. Generous ground clearance and approach/departure angles further help the Gladiator conquer parts never been to. Safety features include airbags and driver safety features, which was not much in comparison to its segment. These include adaptive cruise control, blind sport monitoring and rear parking sensors. Buyers would be buying this truck for the off-road performance of Jeep, rather than the defined application of this vehicle.
