Discovery name tag goes to another recognizable product from the Land Rover stable. It came in 1989 and these models are targeted as practical and family oriented with up to 7 seats; A real family-oriented model for the masses. Defender models are the most recognizable model from Land Rover. It has been in existence along side the Discovery in the 1990. But they were rebadged from the 110 and 90 from early 80s. Defender models are the boxy ladder framed models, which are synonyms with the Land Rover name as Wrangler is to Jeep.
Land Rovers have been used in wars, ambulances, snow ploughs, six-wheel drive versions and much more. Highly modified Land Rovers have been used in Dakar Rally too. The company has a cult following, with having clubs for those fans.
Even though the company shifted from various owners, it truly maintained the heritage that the original company has.
